Rafau Etamski is a Polish music producer who has won the hearts of drum and bass fans around the world with his melodic and atmospheric style. His tracks, often referred to as “liquid,” are characterized by rich basslines, catchy melodies, and soulful vocals.
I can say that it was because of my brother. He was the one who showed me the first CD compilation of drum and bass, which was a supplement to a music newspaper. I remember to this day this cover. Black lizard on an orange background. It was also the first time I heard about Goldie.
What I like most about this genre?? Diversity, ability to combine hard electronics with live instruments. The combination of energy and melancholy. For me Drum and bass is like Jazz of electronic music.
I’ve always been inspired by old-school hip hop and its jazzy, funky sound. Over time, ambient music came along, and that’s how I try to combine it in my songs. Although I don’t know if I do it perfectly, I keep trying.
It all started when I got a computer for my 18th birthday.I remember that I immediately installed FL studio on it and since then, instead of playing games like a normal kid, I played in making music.
At first I was making everything from house music to hip hop to drum and bass. After some time I noticed that 174 gave the most fun to produce.
It always starts with some one sound, a sample, something that just hits my heart and ears. Sometimes I wait for that moment a day and sometimes a month. Then I arrange everything around that one sound. During this process you have to be very careful not to cover that sound and don’t lose the magic of that element.
Hmm, this is a difficult question. I can name 3 such things:
1.Releasing song on vinyl.
2.Hearing my song on the radio.
3.Creating a track that brings in real earnings.
I am currently working on a track together with a rap artist from the UK called Acros. I think our production will be released soon.
Collaborations have always been a problem for me. I am not very good at it however, I have collaborated and created a track together with Dan Guidance. It is completely different when it comes to remixes, I really like to do remixes.
Only two things come to mind:
lack of free time and my cats who notoriously destroy my headphones;]
Nowadays we have such opportunities that it really only takes desire and passion to make music.
This is probably one of the most common questions I get asked. I answer with a smile ‘ no’. I have never been into djing. I’ve always preferred to create something rather than recreate. Besides, I would get too stressed out on stage;) It’s not for me.
I spend time with my girlfriend. We really like to travel in particular to visit abandoned places. The rest of the time is also taken up by regular work.
It would definitely be a female vocalist, and if I had to choose it would be Sade Adu.
Thank you for your time and we wish you all the best in the future and look forward to hearing more from him!
