The End of an Era: Saying Goodbye to the Legendary Storm Club

Prague is about to experience one of the most significant losses to its music scene—the iconic Storm Club in Žižkov will be closing its doors after more than eleven years of operation. In April 2025, its chapter will come to an end, and with it, an era that profoundly shaped the electronic music scene in the Czech Republic and beyond.

Since its opening in 2013, Storm Club quickly built a reputation as the home of drum and bass music. Thanks to its bold programming and uncompromising vision, it became an essential part of the city’s nightlife. Over the years, the club hosted some of the biggest names in drum and bass, including Wilkinson, Dimension, Sub Focus, Noisia, and Black Sun Empire. It also served as a launchpad for many artists who performed there before making a name for themselves internationally. In the Czech & Slovak Bass Awards, Storm repeatedly took home the “Club of the Year” title, solidifying its irreplaceable role on the scene.

But Storm Club wasn’t just a venue for electronic music. Over time, it embraced a wide range of genres—welcoming heavy metal, hardcore punk, rap, and even country. On its stage, you could find acts like 6ix9ine, P Money, and experimental projects like Ic3peak. It became a home for live music lovers and experimental music projects alike.

The reason for the closure is the landlord’s decision not to extend the club’s lease, much to the disappointment of fans. Despite surviving the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, thanks in part to crowdfunding campaigns, the club now faces an inevitable end.

However, the team behind Storm Club is determined to go out with a bang. The final season promises an extraordinary lineup of events, featuring the best DJs and artists who have graced its stage over the past decade. Fans will have one last chance to create new memories at the legendary venue, with plenty of special events, competitions, and unforgettable nights.

As the club’s director, Ondřej Veselka, put it:

“We want to sincerely thank all our fans for their years of visits and their unwavering support through good times and bad. We invite you to join us for the final season and help us create a few more beautiful memories together.”
The closure of Storm Club marks a huge loss for Prague’s music scene, but there’s hope that one day a new space will emerge to recapture its unique energy. Until then, we must say goodbye to a venue that became a second home for thousands of music fans(PrahaIN)(RAVE.cz).

In Summary: If you’re in Prague and love electronic music, the final season of Storm Club is not to be missed. In April 2025, we will say farewell to this legendary club, but its legacy will live on in our hearts for years to come.
